Shanghai Mac is a leading Seawater Desalinator manufacturer and supplier.
A seawater desalinator is a reverse-osmosis system that converts high-salinity seawater of up to 45,000 ppm TDS into potable water below 500 ppm TDS for drinking, cooking, and galley use. It serves merchant ships, fishing vessels, yachts, offshore platforms, and shore-side docks, marinas, and island communities where a reliable freshwater supply cannot depend on port bunkering or bottled water. Conventional supply by barge or truck is costly, weather-dependent, and fails during long voyages or in remote coastal locations. The unit removes the logistics, cost, and shortage risk of carrying or purchasing freshwater, while a pressure-exchanger energy recovery device keeps power consumption at only 3–4 kWh per cubic meter. Our skid applies 316L stainless steel and automatic PLC control to deliver stable freshwater output under changing sea temperature and salinity for continuous onboard and dock operation.

Packaging of Seawater Desalinator:
Standard Packaging
Each unit is wrapped in protective PE film and fixed to a steel-reinforced base frame with shock-absorbing blocks. The skid is then packed in a fumigated wooden export crate (or plywood case), with inner anti-rust paper and foam padding around the
control panel and membrane housings. Crates are stacked on fumigated wooden pallets and secured with steel strapping for international shipment.
Shipping
We support FCL and LCL sea freight, and express delivery depending on order quantity and destination. Trade terms include EXW / FOB / CIF; other terms may be available upon request. Shipping costs are calculated based on cargo volume, gross weight, destination, and selected transportation method.
Lead Time
Samples / demo units: 25–30 working days
Standard orders: 30–35 working days
Customized orders: 45–50 working days

Q1: How long does sample / demo-unit preparation take?
A: Demo or sample-size units are usually ready in 3–7 working days after confirmation.
Q2: What information do you need for a custom quotation?
A: Daily freshwater demand (m³/d), feed-water source and TDS, available power (voltage/phase/DC), installation space, and destination port.
Q3: What is the MOQ and production lead time?
A: MOQ is 1 unit. Standard lead time 15–25 working days; customized 25–40 working days.
Q4: What quality standards does the product meet?
A: Manufactured under ISO 9001; CE available. Product water meets WHO/EU drinking-water limits (TDS ≤ 500 ppm).
Q5: What factors should I consider when choosing a seawater desalinator?
A: Required daily capacity, feed seawater TDS and temperature, available power, recovery rate, footprint, and whether an energy recovery device is included for low running cost.
Q6: What is the difference between SWRO and brackish-water RO?
A: SWRO uses seawater membranes and 55–69 bar pressure for ~35,000–45,000 ppm feed;brackish RO uses lower-pressure membranes (~10–25 bar) and cannot handle full seawater salinity. Use SWRO for open-ocean / dock seawater intake.
Q7: What information do you need from me to recommend the right model?
A: Vessel or site type, daily water demand, feed salinity, power supply, and space constraints — we then match capacity, pump, and membrane configuration.
